An Evening with "Babe" (Reservations are going fast!)

This incredibly special version of our Ultimate Baseball Hall of Fame package (February 25 - 27, 2010) is a real home run! The Inn at Cooperstown is super excited to announce this unbelievable opportunity to spend an evening with Babe Ruth’s granddaughter, Linda Ruth and noted historian and author, Bill Jenkinson. If you’re a Babe Ruth fan (and who isn’t) this package is for you. Linda and Bill have graciously agreed to spend time exclusively with The Inn at Cooperstown’s guests regaling Babe Ruth stories, interesting facts, and tidbits. Some spots are already taken for this package and only a limited number remain so call now to reserve yours.

Linda Ruth Tosetti has lectured on the life of her legendary grandfather, George Herman “Babe” Ruth, at various schools and universities, the Society of America Baseball Research, the Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown NY, the Babe Ruth Museum in Baltimore Maryland, the Ted Williams Museum, Tropicana Field, in St. Petersburg, Florida. She is currently working to get her grandfather’s #3 retired from MLB and have his number hang in every Major League stadium and park. Please visit www.retirebabesnumber.com for more information.

Linda Ruth has also been a Contributor to Fox Channel News, ESPN, the Chicago Sun-Times, the New York Times, and the Boston Globe and has been an honored guest at Yankee Stadium, Fenway Park, and various important sporting venues and events throughout America. Linda Ruth is considered a leading authority on the life and times of her fabled grandfather from an intimate family point of view. Her striking resemblance to her grandfather shows she is a direct descendant through her Mother, Dorothy Ruth Pirone, Babe Ruth’s only blood daughter.

Bill Jenkinson is one of the country’s most respected and trusted baseball historians. He has served as either official or de facto consultant for The Baseball Hall of Fame, Major League Baseball, The Society for American Baseball Research (SABR), The Babe Ruth Museum and ESPN. He has been quoted in nearly every major American newspaper as well as Time Magazine, Newsweek and Sports Illustrated. Jenkinson is a career investigator, who has primarily made his living preparing civil cases for litigation. He has been trained to separate fact from fiction, since his work is required to withstand the demands of courtroom scrutiny. Since 1979, he has blended his vocation with his avocation, and has researched aspects of sports history in a singularly comprehensive manner. Jenkinson has personally interviewed almost every top slugger in baseball annals. That list includes Hank Aaron, Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle, Willie Mays and Ted Williams along with many others. He has also scrupulously studied the careers of literally every slugger, which includes a review of every single home run hit by each.

Jenkinson has written articles for various Major League teams including the Baltimore Orioles, Boston Red Sox, Cincinnati Reds and Philadelphia Phillies. He has also written several pieces for the nationally distributed Sports Weekly. In 1997, when SABR published the Home Run Encyclopedia, they arranged for Jenkinson to write a special chapter on the history of long distance home runs. He has given countless radio and television interviews including an ESPN appearance when that network produced a show about “tape measure homers”. A Japanese network also sent a crew to his home, when filming a documentary about Babe Ruth.

As has been the case for many years, all unanswered questions directed to the Babe Ruth Museum are routinely referred to Jenkinson. He receives a steady stream of such inquiries from all over the country and the world. Whenever someone needs information about Babe Ruth, they almost always wind up at Bill Jenkinson’s doorstep. With the publication of his book about Babe Ruth in 2007 that process has accelerated. Titled The Year Babe Ruth Hit 104 Home Runs, this compelling chronicle has received exceptionally positive reviews from all sources. Accordingly, the author has participated in a series of interviews and public speaking engagements for audiences from coast to coast.
