Visit Otsego Lake

New York State Parks are open, and park fees are currently being waived by the state. So, as we head into summer with warmer days ahead, visit Glimmerglass State Park. The park rests just eight miles outside of Cooperstown, overlooking Otsego Lake. There are trails available for day hiking, sandy beaches for a relaxing afternoon, and beautiful views all around you. A favorite spot to visit is Brookwood Point on Otsego Lake. This 100-year-old garden offers a place for hiking, paddling, and beautiful scenery.

While the park is currently open, social distancing requirements are in place.

Get out on the water

Stay cool this summer and get out on the water with activities such as kayaking, canoeing, or paddleboarding. Need a kayak or a canoe? Visit one of Cooperstown’s local outfitters at Canoe and Kayak Rentals, offering three locations, one of which is just two miles from The Inn at Cooperstown at Brookwood Point. Or visit them at Glimmerglass State Park for rentals.

Bike Cooperstown

One of our favorite things to do in Cooperstown while social distancing is biking. Spring through fall, biking in Cooperstown is a great outdoor activity that most anyone can enjoy. From road biking to mountain biking, there is a path for everyone.
