IN DEPTH LEARNING ENCOUNTER. ONCE IN A LIFETIME DINING EXPERIENCE.
The Inn at Cooperstown in partnership with the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum announces a very special Collection Care and Conservation Workshop on April 28th and 29th, 2017. As the keepers of the Game’s history, the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum helps fans relive their favorite moments and celebrate baseball history. Cooperstown is where these stories and memories have been protected, preserved, and cared for more than 75 years.
The Museum Collection and Library Archive are substantial, encompassing more than 40,000 artifacts, 145,000 baseball cards and three million Library pieces. The amazing collection features items from as early as 1839 and includes 6,500 baseballs, 1,900 bats, 900 uniforms, 700 caps, 400 trophies and 300 pairs of spikes. The Library Archive dates back to 1854 and includes 250,000 photographs, 14,000 hours of original record media, as well as player and subject files on virtually every individual and topic related to baseball history.
The Collection Care and Conservation Workshop is a new program that provides fans with a behind-the-scenes opportunity, in-depth learning encounter, and once-in-a-lifetime dining experience. “My husband is still gushing over the time he spent at the Hall of Fame. He was able to see items that are not normally on display in the museum as part of the "behind the scenes" portion of the VIP Experience. His mind was blown away with not only the artifacts he was able to see but also with the knowledge of all of the museum’s staff. This package that the Inn has to offer was worth every penny!”– Simsbury Connecticut
