The Inn: Policies


All reservations are secured with a credit card deposit which varies according to the length of your stay:

  • 1 or 2 nights, total lodging charge
  • 3 or more nights, 50% of lodging charges

Rates are subject to state sales tax plus local lodging tax and are subject to change without notice.

Minimum Stay

From April 1 to October 31 and on holiday weekends a two-night stay is required when a reservation includes a Saturday night.


If a reservation is changed, in whole or in part, a processing fee of $25 per room will be charged. When notice of a cancellation is provided more than 14 days in advance of the arrival date, a full refund less the processing fee will be made. When notice of a cancellation is provided 14 days or fewer from the arrival date, a refund is subject to re-rental of the reserved room without loss to The Inn at Cooperstown. The cancellation policy may differ for packages and for stays longer than three nights.

Late Arrival/Early Departure

Vacancies caused by late arrivals or early departures are considered to be cancellations and are subject to the cancellation policy and fees as described above.

Room Capacity

Due to the historical nature of the inn, each room can accommodate only the number of individuals as confirmed in the reservation. If the number of individuals in your party increases, contact us for additional room availability. The inn does not have cots or roll-away beds.

No Smoking

In accordance with New York State law, smoking is prohibited throughout the entire building. It is also prohibited in all outdoor areas of the inn including porches and parking lots. A $250 cleaning fee will be charged for any evidence of smoking within the building. Heavy smokers should consider other accommodations.
