Mother’s Day in Cooperstown

Spring is in the air and Mother’s Day is just around the corner. Join us in Cooperstown for these fun events, perfect for celebrating Mom.

Mother’s Day Celebration | Baseball Hall of Fame | Sunday, May 14

For the sports-loving mom, take a trip to the Baseball Hall of Fame for a very special Mother’s Day exhibit and schedule of events, including tissue paper flower-making for children.

“Mother’s play a pivotal role in their children’s lives and we should thank our moms for everything they do and did. Although we never can thank them enough, we can at least take time to honor them on Mother’s Day. If not with a home run or a couple of hits, then at least with some flowers, a hug and a deep appreciative, “Happy Mother’s Day!”” More about the day’s agenda.

Mother’s Day Brunch Buffett and Music | Pianists Mark Lubell and Tim Iverson | May 14, 11am to 2pm, 2pm to 5pm

Music-loving moms will appreciate this year’s brunch at Otesaga Resort hotel. Enjoy a delicious menu plus renditions of your favorite jazz classics. About the pianists;

“…Mark has studied with jazz pros Jeff Tillman, Tom Dempsey and Roni Ben-Hur, and he has played in several jazz ensembles and big bands. He has played in a broad variety of settings, from jazz festivals in the US and Europe, to Carnegie Hall, the occasional bar or winery gig, restaurants and private events.  He also does some writing and arranging – some of his original tunes are featured on his CDs On the Beach, and Beyond.”

“Iversen has made a career as a performer, composer, and educator. He has taught music to students as young as pre-k through age 96. He performs regularly as a solo pianist, as a member of the Old Masters Jazz Ensemble, and as a sideman for many jazz, rock, and blues groups. He also directs the choir and plays the organ at the First Baptist Church in Cooperstown, is organist for the National Baseball Hall of Fame, and frequently serves as the music director for Orpheus Theatre and the SUNY Oneonta Theatre Department.”
